Sundays at First Baptist Church

First Baptist Church is a relaxed, homey, come-as-you-are, blended, multi-generational, Christ-centered church dedicated to "Loving God and Loving Port Townsend."

GENERAL INFORMATION

What time does Sunday worship begin?
The worship service begins at 9:30.

How Long is the Worship Service?
The service length varies but it is always less than 90 minutes. 

Where is the church?
The church is located in uptown Port Townsend at 1202 Lawrence Street. Plenty of street parking is available near the church.

Where do I enter the Church?
The main entrance to First Baptist Church is at the rear of the building.
Look for signs and a flag saying: “Enter Here.”

What should I wear?
Come as you are! Sunday morning dress runs from casual to coat and tie.

What is the style of music?
We sing old hymns and spiritual songs, and we sing modern praise music, accompanied by piano, organ and guitar- and sometimes acapella. 

What will my children do?
We love to have children in our worship services, but if parents prefer,  We have activity boxes to keep little hands occupied and a dedicated nursery.

What can I expect?
Our typical service begins with prayer and some modern praise songs. Then comes a scripture reading. The congregation shares their prayer concerns and gratefulness to God. Some traditional hymns follow, then announcements and the message winding up with a closing prayer. 

Is There Programming for Children?
While we love children and would welcome them, our congregation is, sadly, childless at this time. so we do not offer any Children’s programming.
